| Also, as much as AU fanfics can be fun and great practice in their own right, I think staying in that character's mindset when you write them, really concentrating on who they are and how they were written by the original person, can help with writing your own characters when you go to write your original stuff. | I write fanfiction as well, and I would absolutely recommend it for writers who need a practice outlet. I've found it to be a great motivator for when I'm not in a writing mood but know that I have to do SOMETHING. And I appreciate you for saying that it doesn't always equate into bad writing. It can be as good as you want it to be, and it doesn't make you a lesser writer than anyone else. | ||
