What do you guys think about FYAD’s new theme? Is it easy enough to read? Do you like it?
Hey guys, John here. Thought I might throw FYAD open to a discussion, my first one as an admin. The theme is:
Obscure or little-known books and series you love
I’ll get us started with an old favourite of mine, Paul Stewart’s ‘Edge Chronicles’.
This is far-out fantasy at its best. Set in the fictional world of The Edge, where stones float, trees eat flesh, and goblins march to war against the vicious bird-people known as Shrykes, the Chronicles are three trilogies, one standalone sequel (of sorts) and two promotional World Book Day volumes, comprising a total of 12 books.
Starting chronologically with ‘The Curse of the Gloamglozer’ and ending with ‘The Immortals’, the Chronicles tell the tale of four protagonists, each a descendent of the previous trilogy’s protagonist. From free-spirited fantasy of flying sailing ships and pirates in ‘Gloamglozer’, to steampunk industry in ‘The Immortals’, The Edge and its people clearly change and evolve over the course of the books.
Definitely a must-read.
What about you guys? What are some lesser-known books and series you love and think others should look into?
-John
There will be an announcement tomorrow.
Go about your business as normal.
This has been a public service announcement funded by Vault-Tec.
(Here, I’m moving the announcement up to today! Exciting news!)
As you may have guessed, I didn’t post the above announcement. In fact, FYAD has a new admin! John will be helping me out with running the blog, answering asks, and giving advice on writing. I’d like you to all give him a warm welcome as FYAD approaches its one-year anniversary!
From now on, I’ll tag my name at the end of the post, as will John.
Thanks for following!
